Greenwich Park
Greenwich Park is a very unique and special place. As the setting for many historic buildings, including the Old Royal Observatory and with the Greenwich Meridian line running right through it, the Park is steeped in history and heritage.
The Park overlooks London and every year millions of visitors absorb the breathtaking panoramic view of the city from the hillside and enjoy relaxing strolls down the avenues of remarkable trees, bringing a sense of wellbeing to all.
As the charity for The Royal Parks, we work with them to enhance, protect and preserve Greenwich Park for future generations to enjoy.
With your fantastic support, we’re able to reach out to make Greenwich part of more people’s lives by raising funds for a wide variety of projects from wildlife conservation and landscape restoration, to community sport, education and art.
Tiffany Fountains
Thanks to a wonderful partnership with The Tiffany & Co Foundation we’re currently restoring and renewing the ornamental and drinking fountains across London’s eight Royal Parks, including in Greenwich Park.
Not only does this project help to conserve, protect and enhance the natural history and heritage of Bushy Park, it also gives its visitors access to more fresh drinking water and helps minimise the vast number of plastic water bottles discarded in the Park every year.
Deer Hide and Nature Trail
With your support, we funded a new deer hide and nature trail in Greenwich Park.
School children can now get a really close view of the deer and the trail leads through a wooded area, dotted with special habitats to encourage wildlife.
The nature trail includes:
- stag beetle loggery
- nesting boxes for bats and hedgehogs
- bird boxes for owls, kestrels, robins, sparrows and wrens.
