Deckchair Dreams

For more than a hundred years, deckchairs have provided visitors with a place to rest their weary feet as they explore London’s Royal Parks. 

The idea for Deckchair Dreams sprang to life when we looked out the window in Hyde Park one sunny day and thought “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the deckchairs had unusual designs on them”.

One year later, that vision became a reality with the launch of Deckchair Dreams, a fantastic public art adventure supported by founding sponsor Bloomberg.

The project brought designer deckchairs into the Parks for everyone to enjoy and raised £200,000 through sponsorship, charity auction evenings and online sales. The money raised goes towards a wide variety of projects from education, wildlife conservation and landscape restoration, to community sport and art.

With the generous help of artists and fashion designers including Tracey Emin, Alexander McQueen and Philip Treacy, along with an eclectic mix of celebrities, cartoonists, chefs and school children, we now have a collection of over one hundred unique deckchairs.
