Deckchair Dreams

For more than a hundred years, deckchairs have provided visitors with a place to rest their weary feet as they explore London’s Royal Parks. One sunny afternoon in 2005, we thought it would be a bit of an adventure to turn our iconic deckchairs into works of art for everyone to enjoy.

And so Deckchair Dreams was born.

We're thrilled to be celebrating our tenth anniversary with our fifth collection of limited-edition deckchairs, designed by prominent personalities from the worlds of art, design, theatre, music, and by local people.

The project, supported by founding sponsor Bloomberg L.P., has brought designer deckchairs into the Parks for everyone to enjoy, involved hundreds of local residents in its community programme, and raised more than £250,000 to support a wide variety of projects from education, wildlife conservation and landscape restoration, to community sport and art.

Deckchair Dreams has been guest of honour in stores, at cultural festivals in the UK and in 2010 went global with an invitation to appear at Shanghai World Expo.
